Talking my 25 gallon cube :D

I recently relocated and instead of dragging the 70 gallon tank along with me. I've decided to start a new setup.

The aquarium that will handle the job is

I haven't received the tank & stand yet.. it's going to be delivered next week from Doctor Foster Smith. For those who might be thinking.. Yes, This tank is identical to the Current Solana 25 gallon advertised on Marine Depot. It's badged as the Eco Cube for Dr Foster Smith except with a smaller price tag.

The Flow will be taken care of by ..

Vortech MP20.. I had a really hard time choosing which powerheads to go with. Hydor Controllable Koralia, Tunze 6055 with controller and Vortech were the top 3 contenders. Koralia, Tunze price tags really set it apart from the Vortech. I looove Tunzes and their customer service is top notch. I was really hesitant on going with Vortech because of my previous experience with them. However, the price tag & low profile won me over. I was willing to give them another shot.

This fixture comes with the Current Solana 25 gallon package from Marine Depot. I ordered it from MD to complete the system. It is 150w metal halide hqi with 2 32w power compact actinic bulbs.

I have the 34 gal. Solana version. I love my tank.

I got the espresso color stand.

What are putting in it? Let me know how you like what you are using for the flow. I kept the 2 arm thing in mine, but I'm not sure that I like it. It's been set up for 9 months now.

so i spent the past few hours putting it together, putting the light stand on.

i've decided to remove the media, bioballs from the chamber. i've modified the rack so it can hold my temp and ph probes instead.

and here it is with light..

leak test tonight. if it passes, in goes the sand for a few days. i will be running heavy carbon since its live sand being transferred over.

got my order of marcorocks today. this florida deco rock has nice shapes. some pieces could be mistaken for base rock or aragocrete tho.

they're in the tub w/ a bunch of live rock curing.. should be a good 2-3 weeks before they're ready to go.
